CONTEST RULES

Eligibility

  • Open to current UConn and UConn Health students, faculty, and staff. This includes students graduating within the contest timeframe, September 8 – November 10, 2025.

Entry Requirements

  • Entries must be 2D artistic representations of UConn research in any field. This can include photography, microscopy, data output, digital modeling, graphic design. If the image is based on technological/scientific imaging, the equipment used must be located on a UConn or UConn Health campus or at collaborator’s facility.
  • Images may be captured using any material imaging technique or created through modeling/simulation.
  • All entries must be 300 dpi to ensure quality printing.
  • The final selected images will be resized – and cropped if necessary – for printing at 39.5” x 27.5” for wall display.
  • Submit images at the submitted at highest possible resolution in .JPG, .PNG, or .TIF format at 300 dpi. Deadline for submission is November 10, 2025, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
  • Entries may be individual or collaborative.
  • Each individual or collaboration may submit up to three entries.

Judging and Prizes

  • A blinded panel will judge entries based on aesthetics, originality, creativity, and composition.
  • Non-monetary prizes will be announced soon. Please check back for updates.
  • Each individual or collaboration may receive only one prize.

Additional Guidelines

  • OVPR reserves the right to display any entry digitally, online or in print, after the contest has ended.
    • By submitting an entry, you confirm that
    • The image does not violate or infringe on any copyright, trademark, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other intellectual property.
    • The image is your own original work (or that of listed collaborators).
  • OVPR reserves the right not to select a winner.
  • Contest results will be announced in December 2025.
