Appointed by the Vice President for Research, the Financial Conflicts of Interest in Research Committee (FCOIRC) is a faculty committee with responsibility for the identification and management of financial conflicts of interest as relates to the conduct of research at the University (Storrs and Regional Campuses).
All investigators must submit a financial disclosure electronically within the InfoEd External Interests module (https://www.infoed.uconn.edu).
The FCOIRC meets regularly to review significant financial interests, identify financial conflicts of interest (FCOIs) in the conduct of research, and to assign appropriate management or mitigation plans for identified FCOI.
Members represent a wide range of disciplines and colleges on campus. The committee seeks to maintain a balance of researchers, of individuals engaging in entrepreneurial activities and not, of representatives from larger and smaller colleges and schools, of the community, and of men and women. The current members come from the departments:
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Mechanical Engineering
